Repair cost guide · Glass Box Diagnostics
Crank-no-start, surge at highway speed, or a missing prime-hum from the back seat all put the pump in the dock. Fuel-pressure regulator, pump relay, wiring chafe at the tank sender, a clogged filter, and a bent float arm mimic pump death with real frequency — and dropping the tank twice is nobody’s idea of fun.

Labor

Book time

Key on, hear a weak prime, sell the pump. Without pressure AND volume tests against spec, that “bad pump” was a $35 relay or a corroded sender pigtail in a large share of swaps — the pump is the no-confidence defendant.
Fuel pressure at the rail and volume delivered per 10 seconds against factory spec, key-off pressure fall-off (leaky check valve vs. injector issue), pump current draw with a clamp, and a relay-and-voltage check at the module before anything gets unbolted.

Ranges on this page are national street pricing for independent shops (parts + labor), published so you have a fair benchmark — not a quote for your car. The line item nobody else prices: whether the repair is actually needed. A flat $150 diagnostic answers that before parts get bought.
