OBD-II code · Electrical & Network
The outside-air temperature sensor is reading an impossible value. Circuit high usually means a broken wire, not a hot world. Consequences: the gauge shows nonsense, start-stop and climate logic misbehave. It almost never affects drivability.
Some shops bundle it into a sensor pack or use it to justify a whole climate-control module. The sensor itself is $30–$80 and lives behind the front bumper.
Typical guess-and-swap cost: $600+ (climate module) for a $60 sensor or a re-seated connector
Read the sensor resistance live, compare against the temperature it claims, then inspect the connector — rodents and road salt love this harness. Open circuit at the pin: wiring. Sensible resistance but still a code: sensor.
